I like the ambiance at Telleish, where I was greeted with a delightful selection of drinks, (including bubbles!) upon arrival. Thanks to my advance booking, there was no wait time. It appears they excel in long hair coloring, although my short hair cut was also well-executed. However, although I wanted my hair to slightly curl in after the first wash like the results I often get from Asian-specialized hair salons, it didn't cooperate and went a bit awry 😂. I would still return for the inviting atmosphere and wonderful staff.

This was my first time visiting the salon, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I went in for a blonde-to-copper transformation and was looked after by Cristina & Cat. They took their time and care making sure my hair was perfect before I left. I was recommended products to help maintain my color and keep my hair healthy but with absolutely no pressure to buy them there and then. It’s been four weeks now, and my copper is still vibrant and my hair feels stronger than ever. I’m so happy with the results and will be back for a refresh in a few weeks :)!

I’ve been going to Telleish for around seven years now, and I can confidently say it’s the best salon experience I’ve ever had. When I first walked through their doors, my hair was in an absolute state — badly damaged from being over-bleached at my friend’s salon, and made worse by a terrible visit to another place nearby (let’s not even go there). I was heartbroken over my hair, but then I found Telleish — and I’ve never looked back. What sets Telleish apart is how deeply they care about the health and science of your hair. They won’t do anything that your hair can’t handle. They genuinely want what’s best for you, and that kind of integrity is rare in this industry. I started off seeing Ross, who was phenomenal. I was devastated when he left, but it didn’t take long to realise that everyone at Telleish is just as incredible. They have high standards across the board — I’ve seen a few different stylists over the years, and every single one has been an absolute professional with a fantastic attitude and great customer service. You just know they would never let someone touch your hair unless they truly knew what they were doing. Carly is my current stylist, and she’s simply wonderful. I honestly wonder if Chantel and Jason pair you with your stylist based on personality, because Carly just gets me. She’s talented, warm, and always makes my hair look and feel amazing. I trust her completely. The salon itself is stunning — think New York loft vibes with beautifully curated interiors. It’s more than just a hair appointment — it’s an experience. You can sip on a cocktail, enjoy a great coffee or a snack from their in-salon menu, and just relax. Every visit feels like a little escape from the outside world. Telleish is hands down the best salon in Melbourne. I cannot recommend them enough. I forgot to mention the fantastic front of house staff Emma and Trent who make you feel so welcomed as soon as you walk in and leave.

I really have enjoyed going to this salon and am a long time customer. However, I have noticed over the years that the price has become very very expensive. Whilst you get what you pay for, I have to say, there have been a lot of team changes. That is, the really experienced staff have left, and many of the newer staff have very quickly been promoted from new staff to "senior" or "executive". The previous executives have left, and it seems they have these promotions/titles to be able to charge the same expensive prices as what the previous and very skilled/experienced "executives" were bringing in. I love this salon and I am sure the new team are great but I think the prices are too high for what you are now getting from the less experienced team. So sadly I think I will have to go elsewhere.

Do not go here! They are not the blonde experts! They ruined my friends hair. We relocated from Sydney and found them as we walked past. She has always had ice or ash blonde. They are just sales people upselling. She spent in excess of $700 and they made her hair yellow and damaged. She sent them an email with pics and they asked her to come in for a hair strand test and toner. They then proceeded to say its not us its your hair/you have health problems you need a blood test! Disgusting. She finally was recommended a hairdresser in Essendon by a friend and they fixed her hair and spent way less. She has had so many compliments about how great her hair looks now. Shes back to feeling confident with having her hair out whereas after Telleish ruined it she was wearing a cap or beanie daily to hide it. You dont need a fancy looking hair dressing studio, you need good hairdressers.

Arriving at the salon without knowing who would be styling my hair, I took a seat and was introduced to a lady named Rhywens, or Rhy for short, who would be working on my hair. Although she was new to the team, I had no doubts about her capabilities because she explained the necessary steps and offered suggestions that would suit me well. With hope in my heart, I patiently sat for four hours, trusting that she would save my hair from the disaster inflicted by another salon. After the final rinse, Rhywens skillfully blow-dried my hair, and the result was truly astounding. Even the other customers couldn't help but compliment the beauty of my hair color. I couldn't contain my happiness, realizing that every penny I spent was absolutely worth it. Rhywens is truly amazing! She deserves to be in the spotlight, and I will definitely return to her to work her magic on my hair once again. Overall, visiting Telleish Salon is a breath of fresh air for my hair. it’s pricey but worth. every. dollar. for the hospitality / service shown. did a haircut and treatment which was around $200. but there was a drinks menu (including alcoholic drinks) and it’s shampooing seats had a massage function! hoping to go shorter but the master cutter recommended a longer length to be easy to maintain and i love it! and also appreciated that while I got a master cutter to cut my hair - she stayed on for the blow drying, which most other salons I had been would just fob that off to a junior. this review is also coming from someone who generally dislikes salons for the long and uncomfortable waiting experience. everything took around 1.5 hours for me, and with the service, it definitely felt like a short 1.5 hours! there was hardly any waiting time whatsoever.

Went for a cut and colour today for the first time and was ever so impressed. I was taken such good care of. Listened to what I wanted and delivered. I wasn’t sure if I loved how high the colour went to the roots and the girls fixed it without me even having to say I was unhappy with it. The lovely Ruby applied my keratin smoothing treatment with precision and care, explaining the process to me and providing a quote up front. I could see my frizzy fluffy tumbleweed hairline being transformed through each step, and so glad I did the halo as Ruby had suggested. I had high hopes for my appointment, especially given the time and cost involved ($758). Unfortunately, the colour result wasn’t what I expected. I was told the unexpected tone was due to my previous darker colour and that future visits would gradually lighten it. When I returned home, everyone said the highlights weren’t noticeable, which was disappointing considering the time I invested, especially with a little one waiting at home. That said, I do appreciate that my hair feels healthy and undamaged, which is very important to me. I also had a haircut, which I was happy with — I believe it cost around $150, as I also purchased shampoo and conditioner. At this stage, I’m unsure whether I’ll continue with further appointments, as I’m not fully satisfied with the outcome and it’s quite an investment. I just wanted to share my honest experience.

Emerging stylist Rubie did an incredible job on my balayage touch-up. No harsh edges, just beautifully blended. The blonde tone turned out exactly how I wanted! The overall vibe in the salon was good, some snackies and drinks provided. The educator (I didn’t catch her name - sorry!) was so empowering. Really everyone seemed like each others Hype-Person in there. Love it! Both Rubie and her educator were super professional. Just attached some before and after images of my hair. Highly recommend!

I came here after messing my hair up at home to have it corrected. There was a strand test before proceeding, and the results took a long time but were overall fantastic. I was told to come back in a while and pointedly told 'only a half hair of foils' for the regrowth, which I booked in at the recommended interval. That second time I got someone else who decided they didn't like what the first person had done, despite my saying I did like it, and I needed a 'total redesign.' They did not listen to me when I expressed trepidation or, eg, when they insisted my hair needed to be made 'cooler toned' as it's 'natural shade' and I pointed out they were looking at a section of my hair that looked grey because it was, in fact, locally going grey. They did show me reference photos that looked OK, though. The stylist also noted that my hair was 'dry' (it had been heavily process) but instead of considering whether it could support more processing or even thinking of a strand test took it as a cue to push expensive products on me and disparage my home haircare routine before launching into what she decided was best. Hours later I was the last person in the salon, given I was booked in for a shorter service, and my card was taken while I was still waiting in the chair. I noticed in retrospect that I was being charged more even than the quote I was flashed on sitting down, which was much more than I expected already. It was so late that by I was done I just ran. What I saw the next day looked nothing like the reference photographs I was shown and all of the hair was so badly damaged so I wasn't able to get it fixed. I'm now just waiting for it to grow out long enough to cut it off as it's constantly snapping and breaking months later. I felt bullied and then ambushed into paying more for something I didn't want to begin with, that also didn't turn out how it was represented, and overall unexpectedly paid more than my fridge costs to have my hair artificially turned my personal aging grey all over ahead of schedule, leaving me literally crying for three days. The woman at the next chair from me the second time was also very disappointed with her results and was told to go home and see if she got used to it. Hopefully they stylist is no longer there or was having a bad day, otherwise my conclusion is it's very much absolute lucky dip here. The first time was excellent, the second time was a massively expensive and extremely upsetting experience with the end result of ruining my hair. Good luck rolling the dice and/or go in armed to be extremely assertive and prepared to just get up and leave if not getting much engagement with what you're saying or too much pushiness from who you get. It's not worth it giving benefit of the doubt here at that point.

I will not be going back here. First few visits were good but the last time I saw hlawn it was quite bizarre. I booked for a full head of foils but I was 25 min late due to a road closure on the west gate and the parking they recommend is a bit of a walk and it was completely full so had to wait a few moments for a park. Because I was late she said she could only do a 3/4 head. It honestly is definitely more like a half head. Plus a colour correct because I put a wash out dye on it, it ended up being $750. They said I could come back in for a part line re do because honestly the regrowth was still so long, my friends and family said it looked the same. The colour was not corrected at all it still had a slight tinge of copper in the top anrea of my hair. I asked how and what you pay for exactly with a colour correction and they said a bit of toner. Hlawn also said it will be back to a copper tinge after a few washes… now I’ve been blonde for many years, I’ve gone black to blonde, copper to blonde MANY times before. I know what can be done and honestly I’ve had better results with a full head of boxed dyed copper hair than what I had from this appointment. I feel like hlawn just couldn’t be bothered or had the time to do a good job and just did the bare minimum. I’ve honestly never paid $750 for foils that look this basic. I look like I have 90s streaks

I first came to Telleish Hair Studio 5 years ago when they were still located at the old address. I love the old place but the new studio is on another level. So modern, stylish and yet so welcoming and so warm at the same time. You can tell how much thought has been put into it for example the chair for hair wash is a massage chair too. About the services, my hair has been cut by numerous people from emerging hairdressers to stylish to master cutters. I even had some free hair cut but no matter if it was paid or free I was treated the same way, always the nicest, warmest, most professional person ever. Thank you Telleish for always being so welcoming and so professional. I can feel the love they have for their job, not just a quick job to finish the day. I had charlotte wash my hair she was really friendly and welcoming. Absolutely blown away by how good of an experience I had here. I was a lil nervy finding a new salon after relocating, but I was put at ease instantly by Hlawn who was so attentive and patient, taking the time to understand what I was after. She perfectly nailed my colour and exceeded expectations. Trent was also super lovely and helpful! All the staff were so warm and friendly and made the time breeze by. Curly 3a/3b hair My hair looks and feel healthier Emily did a wonderful job with my haircut and styling! It is very rare, in my experience, when hairdressers actually listen and stick to what the customer has requested and Emily did exactly what I had asked for. Both Emily and Syb gave useful tips and tricks for second hair day and were lovely to talk to! PS: Telleish has a very wholesome vibe with beautiful space, amazing coffee and even lovely staff.

The stylists were all very attentive, even the ones that weren't directly working on my hair, they kept checking in on me asking if I needed anything or checking my towel was on properly. They were pushy in making me buy there products to do my hair and how I should only use there products if I want my hair to turn out “good” they pushed me to buy these products for over 30 minutes went on and on I spent around $130 for the worst products I’ve ever they made my hair dry knotted and overall ruined my hair health and when I proceeded to get my hair done by them they pointed out my hair has damage to it I explained it was the products they put me on and they said the front would talk to me and they did not they ignored the whole thing. About the service they did on my hair overall the hairdresser was super rough and hurt my head and snapped my hair brushing it was super painful seemed like she had better things to do so inflected pain on my cuz she was rushing on top of this I came back to get a haircut and i got bangs it was the choppiest job I’ve ever had I honestly wouldn’t go here no worth how much you spend for horrible products and service
